With each air cycle, dust, dander, and other particles move through your ductwork and cling to the duct walls, gradually building up a layer of debris that restricts airflow and keeps contaminants circulating through your home. Professional duct cleaning is like pressing the reset button on your HVAC system: powerful source-removal equipment dislodges and vacuums out that buildup so the inside of your ducts and HVAC components start clean again. Whether you’re heating or cooling, air is always moving across your evaporator coil, and as it does, the coil catches dust and lint from the air. The coil is covered in tiny metal fins that make it very good at heat transfer because they add a lot of surface area for the air to pass over—but those same small, tightly spaced fins can easily clog when dust builds up. Over time, that buildup acts like an insulating blanket: it blocks air from flowing through the coil, makes it harder for the coil to absorb heat, and forces your system to run longer. Cleaning your air ducts, changing filters on a regular schedule, and scheduling an annual service visit with your HVAC provider all work together to keep the coil cleaner, improve your AC system’s performance, and help it last longer.

When you replace your furnace, the old duct debris often gets loosened and stirred up. New, high-efficiency furnaces are designed to draw in and blow out a greater volume of air than older models, and that extra airflow can push loosened dust and debris out into your home or pull it into the furnace cabinet. The blower is what actually delivers air through your ducts, and as debris builds up on the blower wheel and its fins, it dramatically reduces how much air the system can move. Before we begin our work, we take steps to protect your home by setting up a safe workspace with drop cloths and corner guards. We gently remove each vent register to access the ductwork and begin your residential air duct cleaning, working carefully to keep your floors, walls, and belongings clean throughout every step of our air duct cleaning process.

Cleaning of Air Ducts

We clean each supply and return line leading to the main trunk lines using a power-driven rotary brush to scrape and a high-velocity vacuum to vacuum away debris. The brush scrapes the interior walls of your residential air ducts while the vacuum captures dust, pet hair, and buildup. Our vacuums are HEPA filtered, so only clean air is exhausted when we perform the work.

Cleaning of Trunk Lines

The main trunk lines in your residential duct system hold the majority of the dust and debris, and this is the most important step of the cleaning. We create targeted access openings, then scrape and vacuum these large ducts to remove built-up debris and contaminants. After we clean them, they are sealed airtight with access panels for long-term system performance.

Access Closure

Access openings created in the main trunk lines are carefully closed using pre-fabricated metal access plates, sized to fit each cut point. These semi-permanent access points are sealed air tight to maintain system performance and prevent leaks for the life of the ductwork, yet they can be safely reopened by a professional in the future if additional inspections or cleanings are ever needed.
