Mason showed up on time, made me feel at ease and answered all my questions. He used drop cloths and booties to keep my house clean. I enjoyed when he showed me before and after photos with random items found inside the vent ducts, like crayons, dog food and hair, and a random assortment of nails and building material debris. He did a good job cleaning around the vents when he was done, and didn't leave a mess behind for me to clean up. Kudos!

I recently purchased and moved into a 20-year old home. Shortly after having my wood floors refinished, our furnace blower motor failed and our furnace filter kept clogging with CLUMPS of pet fur and dust. The HVAC technician recommended duct cleaning. I've always been skeptical of duct cleaning, but I've also never seen the type of fur and dust build up in an air filter that I found in this new house. After spending far too much money on HVAC repairs, I decided to hire a duct cleaning company hoping to avoid recurring problems with my HVAC system. The technicians were courteous and professional. They explained clearly what they were doing and carefully moved (and replaced) furniture to access the ducts and returns for cleaning. Along the way they gladly shared photos of the ducts before and after their cleaning. The ultimate proof of the efficacy of the cleaning will be in a couple months, when I can see if the new air filter looks less like a wet dog and more like a normal air filter. I attached a photo of a brand new MERV 5 filter after 30 days in my system before I had ductworks clean my system. I've never seen an air filter this dirty and hope never to see one like this again.

Proven Local Experience

Recent Centennial HVAC Cleaning Projects

Our technicians understand the specific challenges presented by Centennial’s residential renovations and secure commercial environments. Here are a few examples of our recent source-removal work in the area.

Smoke Damage Restoration: Southglenn Property

Southglenn • Residential

The Challenge: A family in the Southglenn neighborhood experienced a localized fire within their residence. While the flames were quickly contained, the HVAC system drew the resulting smoke deep into the ventilation network. Because smoke particulate naturally condenses and clings to cold metal surfaces, the interior ductwork became heavily contaminated. Whenever the heating and air conditioning system operated, an overwhelming, lingering smoke odor was actively circulated throughout the entire living space.

The Solution: As a critical component of the property’s remediation process, our team was contracted to fully decontaminate the system. We systematically scraped and vacuumed the odor-laden soot and debris directly from the walls of the air ducts. Our technicians meticulously cleaned the interior of the furnace cabinet and the AC evaporative coils. Finally, we applied a professional-grade odor oxidizer throughout the ductwork to permanently neutralize the smoke smell, completely restoring fresh, safe airflow to the home.

HVAC System Cleaning: Medical Center Pharmacy

Centennial, CO • Commercial

The Challenge: A medical center pharmacy in Centennial required cleaning of the HVAC unit, ductwork, and vents serving a highly sensitive and secure area. Due to the environment’s nature, strict security protocols were required throughout the project. Coordination with the owner and security personnel was essential to ensure the space remained secure at all times. In addition, the work needed to be completed on an off-hours schedule to avoid disruption and meet strict reopening deadlines for public access.

The Solution: Our team completed a detailed cleaning of the HVAC unit, associated ductwork, and vents serving the pharmacy. Working closely with the owner and security staff, we followed all required access and security procedures to maintain a controlled environment throughout the project. The work was performed during off-hours to eliminate operational disruption, allowing for efficient execution while maintaining safety and compliance. All deadlines were met, ensuring the pharmacy was fully operational and reopened to the public on schedule.

Professional Standards • NADCA Certified

NADCA-Certified Air Duct Cleaning for Centennial Homes & Businesses

Ductworks, Inc. is certified through the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA), the organization that sets the industry standard for HVAC system cleaning. In a dense, diverse market like the south metro area, choosing a certified contractor protects you from “blow-and-go” scams and ensures that accumulated particulate is completely removed from your system, rather than just dispersed into the air.

For your Centennial property, this guarantees a comprehensive approach. We clean the supply and return ductwork, trunk lines, blower, and accessible components using the specific tools and negative pressure methods required to do the job correctly, regardless of whether you live in an aging 1970s split-level or manage a secure modern commercial facility.

Training: Technicians are trained to meet NADCA’s ACR standard for HVAC system cleanliness, which outlines the precise mechanical procedures needed to achieve a verifiable state of clean.

Proof of insurance and proper coverage: We maintain strict liability and workers’ compensation insurance, ensuring our technicians are fully covered while operating heavy equipment inside your Centennial home or building.

Documented, process-driven cleaning: We do not rely on guesswork. We use proper access methods, aggressive mechanical agitation, and HEPA filtration at the point of contact to extract debris safely and effectively.

Centennial Air Duct Cleaning Questions

Frequently Asked Questions About Air Duct Cleaning in Centennial

Why does my Centennial home seem dusty again shortly after cleaning?

Centennial’s dry climate, open neighborhoods, pets, landscaping, and frequent indoor-outdoor activity can all contribute to dust returning quickly inside the home. Even with a good furnace filter, fine airborne dust is drawn into the return vents and settle inside the ductwork, blower compartment, and other accessible HVAC components. A thorough air duct cleaning removes the built-up material from the system, giving the home a cleaner starting point and helping reduce the amount of settled debris that can be recirculated through the living space.

Is air duct cleaning helpful after a basement finish or remodel?

Yes. There is really no such thing as a completely clean remodel project. Drywall dust, sawdust, insulation fibers, and construction debris suspends in the air and is pulled into the return side of the HVAC system. In Centennial homes where basements are being finished or main levels are being updated, duct cleaning is best scheduled after the dust-producing work is complete and before the space is fully settled back in. A newly remodeled space deserves a newly cleaned duct system to match.

We live near open space or trails in Centennial. Can that affect our ductwork?

It can. Homes near open space, trails, golf courses, or wind-exposed areas around Centennial may see more fine dirt, pollen, and outdoor particulate enter through doors, windows, shoes, pets, and normal household activity. Once that material is inside, the HVAC system draws it into the return vents where it may collect inside the ductwork and filter area. Air duct cleaning will not stop outdoor dust from entering the home, but it can remove the accumulation already inside the ventilation system and help reset the system after years of buildup.

Can commercial air duct cleaning be scheduled around business operations in Centennial?

Yes. Commercial air duct cleaning for Centennial offices, medical spaces, retail buildings, schools, and light industrial facilities should be planned around building operations, tenant access, and mechanical system layout. A NADCA-certified commercial team can help define the scope, identify access needs, and coordinate the work so the project is completed with minimal disruption. For occupied buildings, planning is especially important because workspace protection, communication, and scheduling can be just as important as the cleaning itself.

We manage an office building near the Denver Tech Center. How do we know if the ductwork needs cleaning?

Commercial buildings near the DTC and Centennial business corridors can accumulate dust from occupant traffic, tenant improvements, ceiling work, filter bypass, and years of normal HVAC operation. Warning signs may include dirty supply diffusers, visible debris inside return openings, repeated dust complaints, musty or stale airflow, or documentation gaps in the building’s HVAC maintenance history. A proper inspection can help determine whether the ductwork, air handlers, coils, or other accessible HVAC components should be included in the cleaning scope.

Is duct cleaning needed after installing a new furnace or air conditioner?

It can be a good idea, especially if the duct system is older or if the equipment replacement disturbed existing debris. A new furnace or air conditioner is only one part of the HVAC system, and the existing ductwork may still contain years of dust, pet hair, construction debris, or settled particulate. Cleaning the ductwork after major equipment replacement helps the new system start with a cleaner air distribution network and can reduce the chance of old debris being pulled into new components.
